Description

Les animaux du bayou kit *2021 Edition

This story is set in Louisiana. A group of animals decide to play a trick on their friend on her birthday. She believes that they don't care about her when, in fact, they are planning a surprise party.

This kit is designed to help students consolidate the vocabulary and structures that they have learned in the first two steps through ever more extensive use of partner/group activities such as story retelling, story extension, rap writing and performing, etc. At the end of this unit almost all students are able to produce 10-page original documents entirely in French.

Enhance your kit with the following extras:
Nuit Blanche- Reader

In this touching story a family is required by financial circumstances to give up their home and live in a tent city.  A boy has to grapple with the decision on whether to live with his now-homeless immediate family, or to live far away with relatives.

This is the story of a family separated by an ocean: one family lives in France and the other in Quebec. The children of the French family visit their two Quebecois cousins and discover several differences, both in their language and their culture. They also find that they are jealous of each other. However something happens to them that shows them that family bonds overcome all obstacles.

We solve many of the challenges language teachers face.

The Gesture Approach

The AIM is a methodology that supports students by providing strategies and techniques that ensure student language acquisition and a high level of engagement. The Gesture Approach allows students to visualize, hear, say and 'feel' the language simultaneously, resulting in rapid proficiency development.

A Literacy- and Arts-Based Approach

Through the use of story and drama, songs, raps, and dances, students are moving to the language as they create meaning. Scaffolding and cooperative learning strategies help all students - the shy, weak, and strong - to find great support and success.

High-Frequency Vocabulary

One of the most important aspects of AIM that ensures student success is the high-frequency vocabulary (Pared-Down Language) that threads throughout every aspect of this methodology. AIM is designed such that each word is repeated extensively, allowing students to develop a strong foundation for language proficiency.
